One Last Song hitmaker Sam Smith has been announced as a global ambassador for non-governmental organisation War Child.

The British singer has joined the charity on trips to Iraq and Jordan, and posted on Instagram 'To my wonderful fans, I am so excited and happy to announce that I have become a global ambassador for the incredible humanitarian group @warchilduk... I am so honoured to be a part of such an incredible team and I am truly excited to start helping to raise as much money and awareness as possible'.
